Using visitorXS hotspots is simple. In fact, on newer PCs with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Macintoshes with OSX, Apple Ipad & Iphone, Andriod OS and Blackberry OS devices, little configuration is required.

Once you have gone through this simple configuration, open your Internet browser e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk  and you will be redirected to a login page. Login with your login name and password (a demo can be seen here), or if you are a first time user, sign up with your email address and password. For additional information about wireless security please read here.

You will need the following information to use visitorXS Hotspots:

SSID: visitorXS
Security and/or Encryption: disabled
Channel: Should be set automatically

If you are using any other operating system, such as Windows 9x, Me, 2000, or NT, you will need to use the configuration program that came with your wireless card.

Important: if you're using Windows XP (SP2) and view wireless connection status, you will see visitorXS described as an 'Unsecured wireless network' or similar.
Windows XP (SP2) describes most public access wireless networks in this way. Please ignore this.
visitorXS uses 2048-bit public key encryption during log-in to protect transfer of your data. Account traffic is encrypted and your account is password protected.
